Today I'm reflecting on growth. Part of this conversation, she talks to me about wanting a cell phone and what she wants to do concerning money lol… I never imagined I'd be a homeschooling Mom. But here I am reflecting with a smile! Thank God she is not sassy anymore 🥴 I'm so glad I captured the moments I did.
She was around 5 years old at the time. Listening to how articulate our daughter was, communicating her thoughts, her fearlessness in seeing if she was right about a concept and her ability to be a critical thinker at such a young age is mind blowing to me. Learn to let your kids talk…. Even if it seems like rambling. By the end of the convo I'm sure you'll be surprised. The majority of parents lack patience.
I chuckled listening to this because she is currently so good at managing money!
When she was around eight I remember her telling me how she doesn't want to ask people for money for the things she wants for herself. She said if she doesn't work for it, it doesn't feel right. I was pleasantly surprised to hear she felt that way. Made my heart smile so big. That's when I started teaching her how to budget for herself.
Starting young and allowing them to have real experiences managing money really makes a difference. Maybe I'll share footage. I recorded an exercise I use to do with her regarding money when she was younger. I'm praying she continues to grow in grace and becomes a excellent steward over whatever God entrust her with.
Hope you enjoy listening to this flashback. Our morning convos began the moment she could talk! Well actually, the moment she could babble lol ❤️
