Gratefulness

I found a song ((listen)) i wrote and recorded in 2011 entitled “Grateful” and it got me to thinking… GROWTH IS REAL!

Growing up, I was taught to be grateful for what I have. I was taught not to compare myself to other people. I'm so grateful for the way my Aunt Sherrie raised me. That may be the reason I never realised I was so little as a kid lol…. And i often forget how little i am right now because i don't feel small 🤣😭😅

Fast forward to my late teens after becoming a believer in college. My mindset begin to focus more on things that weren't tangible. As God began to show me how much I needed Him, I became more and more grateful for the grace He gives. I became more grateful for His word that's the blueprint for a believers life. I became more grateful for friendships that are real. My gratitude grew in things not readily seen. I wanted to please God in ways that aren't visible to the eyes. My focus became pleasing God with the hidden things and being grateful for the grace to continue growing. It's amazing how things that used to offend me don't offend me anymore lol

When the grace of God impacts your life in a real way, I'm certain you will never look at life the same. When you love someone you desire to do things that show how much you love them. You want them to know how much you care. I began to compare my actions to what God's word says they should look like.

God elevates our perspective. He elevates what our aim in life should be. People are no longer the standard. Trials should elevate your character. His word should become the barometer for the things you do. And TIME should reveal how your life has been seasoned with His grace.

When you live a life of gratefulness through the lens of a believer, people will know the difference when you're in the room. Whatever you set your hands to do in life, people will observe how set apart you are. And when they recognize it, give God His due glory and thank Him in a real way.

Have you been grateful or full of complaints, spite and comparison? Remember, you are the first person His word should impact 😉… Have you looked in His mirror today?
